The finals for the men’s singles draw at the 2023 Mutua Madrid Open is down to top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz challenged by unseeded Jan-Lennard Struff. At the start of this tournament, these two were about as far about as possible with Alcaraz coming in as the top seed and Struff as a qualifier that needed to win extra matches to get into the tournament, then upset everyone he faced all the way to the championship match. Struff took down three ranked seeds in the tournament in Stefanos Tsitsipas, Asian Karatsev and Ben Shelton. Alcaraz has not dropped a set so far this tournament and looks to win his fourth tournament of the year and 10th overall in his career just after he turned 20 years old.
