This season's build-up to WrestleMania kicks off once again with the 2023 Royal Rumble.

As per usual, 30 WWE superstars will try to throw each other over the top rope to earn a spot at this year's WrestleMania.

Big names to look out for in the men's event include Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Gunther. The women's event has Rhea Ripley, Shayna Baszler and Liv Morgan as part of its line-up.

But because it's the Royal Rumble, you can no doubt expect surprise returns and cameos as part of the event.

What time does the Royal Rumble start in Australia?

The 2023 Royal Rumble starts at 12pm AEDT on Sunday 29 January. It's taking place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

How to watch 2023 Royal Rumble live in Australia

The WWE Royal Rumble 2023 is available to watch on BINGE, Foxtel Now, Foxtel iQ and Kayo.

This is a change from previous years when it was available only as a pay-per-view on Main Event or on the WWE Network.

But late in 2022, WWE signed a new deal with BINGE and Foxtel to become the new home for WWE down under. The WWE Network shut down in Australia on 23 January.

Stream Royal Rumble on BINGE

From 2023, BINGE is the new streaming home for WWE Network, with all WWE premium live events including Royal Rumble 2023.

New customers can use this 14-day trial and test it all out, meaning you could watch Royal Rumble 2023 for free.

After the free trial, BINGE starts at $10 a month.

Recent highlights on BINGE include the survival drama hit The Last of Us, docuseries Shaq and the Oscar-nominated film Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Stream Royal Rumble on Foxtel Now

New users get a 10-day free trial with Foxtel Now, which offers another way to watch WWE Royal Rumble 2023.

Once your free trial is done, continuing to watch WWE on Foxtel Now costs $25 a month.

You can also watch WWE Royal Rumble with Foxtel iQ.

It airs on Fox8 on 29 January 2023 at 12pm AEDT or you can watch it on demand.

Fox8 is included in the Foxtel Plus channel pack, which costs $49 a month but doesn't come with any free trial.

Stream Royal Rumble on Kayo Sports

Kayo Sports features select WWE content. New customers can use this 7-day trial and test it all out so you could also watch Royal Rumble 2023 for free.

Other WWE content on Kayo includes the weekly shows Raw, Smackdown and NXT, plus the 24/7 WWE channel.

After your free trial, subscriptions to Kayo start from $25 a month which gets you only 1 stream at a time.

If you're after more simultaneous streams, the Basic package at $27.50 a month allows 2 while the Premium package has up to 3 at once for $35 a month.

Can I watch WWE Royal Rumble 2023 on Main Event?

No. While past WWE Premium Live Events such as Royal Rumble and WrestleMania were available as pay-per-view events on Main Event, with the new WWE deal in Australia, premium events are now available on BINGE, Foxtel or Kayo at no extra cost to subscribers.

2023 Royal Rumble matches

2023 Royal Rumble preview

With 30 competitors, it's always hard to pick a winner, but we think Cody Rhodes is the favourite to win the men's Royal Rumble.

However, WWE loves to throw an old legend into the Rumble. Rumours are swirling that The Rock could make an appearance in the ring.

Even if that's the case, we still suspect Rhodes to emerge triumphant and set himself up for a Universal Championship bout at WrestleMania.

The women's entrants into the Rumble are more mysterious at the moment, with only 7 of 30 competitors announced at the time of writing.

Based on those already announced, we believe Rhea Ripley is the firm favourite to take out this year's Rumble.

Other big match-ups on the Royal Rumble card include Roman Reigns taking on Kevin Owens in a singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Bray Wyatt also makes his hotly anticipated in-ring return, taking on LA Knight in his first match since he rejoined WWE in October 2022.

WWE star Bianca Belair takes on Alexa Bliss in a singles match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship.

How to watch regular WWE programming

BINGE, Foxtel Now and Kayo are also the 3 ways you can keep watching WWE all year.

That's because the WWE Network is no longer available in Australia.

BINGE is the cheapest option as subscriptions start at only $10 a month.

Even BINGE's highest-priced tier at $18 a month still works out to be cheaper than both Foxtel Now and Kayo.

Foxtel Now is the better option if you'd like access to more archival WWE content.

While it's more expensive per month, Foxtel Now has a lot more older WWE events on demand compared to BINGE. However, neither has the volume of archival content that was on the WWE Network.

Also more expensive than BINGE, Kayo would be a better option if you only want to view sports and the big premium WWE live events and weekly shows.

But that's only if you don't want the extra entertainment content in Foxtel Now and BINGE.
