India and New Zealand will play in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) match on January 29 at Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. New Zealand won the first game of the series at Ranchi by a score of 21 runs to take a 1-0 series lead. In the first match, New Zealand chose to bowl first and scored 176 runs in 20 overs while losing 6 wickets.
In their chase, the Indian team lost nine wickets despite scoring 155 runs. After that, Washington Sundar hit his first half-century in T20Is, taking 28 balls to score 50 runs. Suryakumar Yadav, a skilled batter, hit 47 out of 34 balls, but it wasn’t enough. Mitchell Santner, a left-arm spinner, dominated the middle innings, retiring two batters and allowing just 11 runs in four innings.
Prithvi Shaw, according to rumors, will replace Shubman Gill in the playing 11. In one-day internationals, the young batsman performed admirably, but in Twenty20 matches, he struggled. In the previous T20 match against New Zealand, Shubman scored seven runs in six balls. At 6:30 p.m. IST, the captains of both teams will come forward for a coin toss, and the game will start at 7:00 p.m. IST.
